The Thiepval Memorial, the Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, bears the names of more than 72,000 men who died in the Somme sector before 20 March 1918 and have no known grave. A visit we felt we needed to make it was a warm sunny day but so sad seeing all the names of those who died so young all the children left never knowing their fathers. In another cemetery we visited near by the graves of some as young 18 ....

Until the next time
